What can I expect at the first session?
The first time you come to the consultation, I will ask you a series of questions that will help me to get to know you better and to guide the treatment. After these questions, we will start with the acupuncture session. The approximate total time is about one hour.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
No, Acupuncture is not painful; some people feel a little pinch when the needle is inserted, others do not even notice it.
Once they are on, I touch them a little bit and, at that moment, you can feel a tingling sensation that lasts less than a second.
How long will I have to keep the needles in?
The needles are left in place for about 25 minutes, during which time you can enjoy music while you relax.
What material are the needles made of?
They are made of surgical stainless steel.
Are the needles safe and are they sterile?
Each of the needles I use comes in individual sterile packages and, after each session, I dispose of them all in a special container which is then collected by a specialized company. I never use any needle more than once, not even for the same person.
How many sessions will I need?
Acupuncture does not have strict protocols for each treatment and each person is different, but we can talk about approximate sessions depending on your condition and experience. If you are not sure, write me or call me and we will discuss your case and I will try to solve any doubts you may have.
Can I have a normal life after the session?
Yes. I like to recommend that the day be taken a little slower than usual, but there's no harm in continuing to make your plans.
Are there any side effects?
Acupuncture is a good method, with no side effects. If you are taking medication or doing sessions with any other professional, it could be an ideal complement, as it does not interfere with any of the treatments you may be doing.
